"eBay Mexico" isn't a separate marketplace with its own fees. Sellers based in Mexico list on eBay.com (or another eBay site), pay that site's fees in dollars, and add a 1.55% international fee because they live outside the buyer's country. That makes eBay less a rival to Mercado Libre and more a way to sell to the US and the rest of the world.

Worked examples
- $60 vintage football jersey: $8.16 final value fee + $0.40 per order + $0.93 international = $9.49
- $180 pair of sneakers: $14.40 (8% because the sale is $150 or more, no per-order fee) + $2.79 international = $17.19
Shipping costs to the US are usually the bigger variable — price them in before you list.
Mercado Libre or eBay?
Mercado Libre is where Mexican shoppers buy, with local payments and Mercado Envíos built in. Its commission depends on the category and listing type, so compare against Mercado Libre's current rates for your products rather than a rule of thumb.
eBay is worth it when:
- your buyers are in the US or Canada (collectibles, vintage sportswear, artesanías, car parts with US demand);
- dollar prices are higher than what the item fetches in pesos at home;
- you can ship reliably with tracking to the US.
For everyday domestic sales, Mercado Libre usually wins on reach; for exports, eBay does.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an eBay Mexico site?
No. Sellers in Mexico list on eBay.com or another eBay site, and the fees of that site apply.
Why do I pay an international fee when I sell on eBay.com?
Because you're registered outside the buyer's country. Mexico is in eBay's "rest of world" group, which pays 1.55% on the total sale.
How do I calculate my fees?
Use the Mexico calculator — it combines eBay.com's fees with the Mexico international fee.
