- Depop (US): no selling fee; 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing on the item price, shipping and tax. Boosted listings carry an extra fee when they sell (8–12% depending on when the boost started). Buyers pay their own marketplace fee.
- eBay.com: 13.6% of the total for most categories including clothing, plus $0.30–$0.40 per order. Sneakers selling for $150+ pay 8% and no per-order fee. Payment processing is included.

In the UK, both can be free
UK private sellers pay no final value fee on eBay.co.uk, and Depop charges UK sellers no selling fee either. For a UK private seller the decision is about audience, not fees. UK business sellers on eBay pay 11.9% for clothing plus £0.30–£0.40 per order and a 0.35% regulatory fee.
Where each platform wins
- Depop: younger buyers, streetwear, Y2K and vintage fashion, quick mobile listing. Fees are low, but prices for non-fashion items tend to be weak.
- eBay: a much broader audience, international buyers, collectibles, sneakers over $150, designer items and anything outside fashion. Auctions help rare pieces find their price.
A common setup: list fashion on both and let the first sale win, but keep non-fashion stock on eBay. If an item sells for noticeably more on eBay, the higher fee can still leave you with more money.
